A brand speaks for itself. It is the ultimate form of
communication that a company uses to interact with its customers and clients.
It is a representation of the company's quality; a symbol
for what the company sells. It can be a
promise and a guarantee from the company to the marketplace.
Regardless of the details, a brand stands for something
beyond just the name on the brand. It
can invoke a sense of loyalty among its customers.
For some companies a brand can command a price premium in
the marketplace as it is recognized and respected.
All of these attributes can be the same for you.
Yes you.
Believe it or not, just by going through our day we are establishing,
molding and representing our brand in every moment. It may not seem like it because we aren’t
aware of anyone physically observing us, but rest assured they are watching.
That talk you had with the barista.
The hello you said to the security guard at the office. Interacting with an intern at your
client. All of these go to building your
brand; let us also not forget the daily interactions you have with clients and
coworkers.
These show the brand that you are building for yourself and only after
time will you look back and see what brand you have built for yourself. I encourage you to become aware now of what
brand you are building for the future because excellent brands take a while to
develop. However to maintain a great
brand takes exceptional and deliberate actions on your part.
Are you a happy, detailed, excellent brand? Or are you a minimalist, unfriendly
brand?
The choice is yours but there is no time like the present to start
creating a brand or re-brand your old one.
